Potomac Presbytery includes PCA churches in the city of Washington, D.C.; the Maryland counties of Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, Saint Mary's, and Washington; the Virginia counties of Alexandria, Arlington, Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Frederick, Prince William, and Loudoun; and the West Virginia counties of Berkeley, Morgan, and Jefferson.

Having grown to 53 churches, the presbytery was split in January of 2002. The continuing Potomac Presbytery includes 28 churches as well as the Chesapeake Christian Training Center, offering internships and other practical ministry experiences to students enrolled in the Washington, D.C. campus of Reformed Theological Seminary.

Since 1998, three new churches have been planted, 10 TEs have been ordained, and 26 men have been brought under care.
